We are excited to announce a major milestone in Water Linked's journey: Water Linked has become part of NORBIT, a global technology company with a strong position in the maritime sector and underwater acoustics.

Since our founding in Trondheim in 2013, Water Linked has been driven by a simple mission: to make underwater navigation, positioning, communication, and perception more accessible, reliable, and capable for operators working beneath the surface. Over the years, our team has developed a portfolio of technologies including Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs), acoustic positioning systems, underwater modems, and 3D imaging sonars that today support customers across offshore energy, marine research, defence, and underwater infrastructure projects worldwide.

Joining NORBIT marks an exciting new chapter that will allow us to accelerate this mission even further.

Building on a Strong Foundation

Water Linked has experienced significant growth in recent years as demand for autonomous and remotely operated underwater systems continues to increase. As subsea operations become more advanced, the need for accurate navigation, reliable communication, and high-quality situational awareness in GPS-denied environments has never been greater.

By becoming part of NORBIT, we gain access to a broader technology ecosystem, deeper expertise in underwater acoustics, and a global platform that will help us scale our innovations faster and reach even more customers around the world.

Complementary Technologies, Shared Vision

One of the most exciting aspects of this combination is how naturally our technologies complement each other.

Water Linked's solutions help underwater vehicles navigate, communicate, and understand their surroundings. NORBIT Oceans brings decades of expertise in advanced sonar and underwater sensing technologies. Together, we see significant opportunities to create more integrated solutions for ROVs, AUVs, uncrewed surface vessels, and other subsea platforms.

The combination of our technologies will strengthen our ability to support customers developing increasingly autonomous underwater operations, from offshore inspections and marine research to defence applications and critical underwater infrastructure projects.

What This Means for Our Customers

For our customers, partners, and distributors, it is business as usual.

Water Linked will continue operating as Water Linked, a NORBIT Company, maintaining our products, support organization, and customer relationships. Customers can continue working with the same teams they know and trust while benefiting from the additional capabilities, resources, and market reach that NORBIT brings.

Over time, we expect the collaboration to unlock new opportunities for product development, innovation, and integrated solutions that deliver even greater value across the underwater technology landscape.

Looking Ahead

"Our customers have been at the center of everything we have built since 2013," says Torstein Skogseth, CEO of Water Linked. "Joining NORBIT gives us a stronger platform for continued growth, accelerated product development, and the ability to deliver even more value to customers and partners worldwide."

We are incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished over the past decade and grateful to our customers, partners, and supporters who have been part of that journey.

Together with NORBIT, we look forward to shaping the next generation of underwater autonomy and helping our customers explore, understand, and operate beneath the surface with greater confidence than ever before.

Stay tuned for more updates as we begin this exciting new chapter.
