Let us describe the challenge


A Project Manager at Water Linked faces the unique challenge of leading innovative, cross-disciplinary product development in one of the most demanding environments there is; underwater. Managing the journey from concept to production requires balancing technical ambition with structure, people with process, and innovation with reliability.

Each project involves multiple disciplines, from hardware and acoustics to software and production. All moving parts that must align to deliver high-quality sensor solutions on time and within scope. The role demands a strong sense of ownership, clear communication, and the ability to inspire collaboration across teams.

What you'll do


In your daily work you will lead and deliver product development projects that align with Water Linked’s strategic objectives, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and reliable underwater acoustic sensor solutions reach the market efficiently and successfully. The Project Manager’s ultimate goal is to drive project execution from concept to production handover, balancing technical excellence, people motivation, and delivery performance.

  • Leadership & Team Motivation: Build, organize, and inspire a multidisciplinary team (engineering, operations, and business functions) to deliver results.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure delivery of the agreed project scope, on time, within budget, and to quality standards defined in the business case and product requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the main communication bridge between management, the technical lead, product management and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals, risks, and expectations.
  • Process Adherence: Manage projects in accordance with the company’s development framework and quality management system, following all defined phases from Business Case to Production Handover.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to strengthen Water Linked’s overall project execution capability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timeline, resources, budget, and milestones.
  • Facilitate business case reviews, risk evaluations, and technical design reviews.
  • Define and follow up on project KPIs (time, cost, quality, and risk).
  • Lead regular team meetings to track progress, address challenges, and maintain motivation.
  • Coordinate with the Project Technical Lead to balance technical delivery with project delivery needs.
  • Ensure documentation, compliance, and reporting are completed according to the project quality process
  • Prepare and present status reports to management, summarizing progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage scope, schedule and costs changes and ensure any deviations are evaluated, approved and implemented. 
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and foster a positive, performance-driven culture.
  • Ensure timely delivery of prototype builds, design testing, 0-series production, and smooth handover to production.

Must-haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial and/or business Management, or equivalent technical/administrative discipline.
  • 7+ years of project management experience in product development, ideally within electronics, sensor, or acoustic systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept to production.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with marine, subsea, or acoustic technologies 
  • PMP, IPMA, or PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent)
  • Project planning, risk management, and requirements handling
  • Understanding of technical development lifecycles (mechanics/electronics/signal processing and software)
  • Budgeting / cost tracking experience
